Swiss Blue Earrings - Argentium Silver - 3479
Make a statement with this contemporary design handcrafted by award winning designer, David Worcester.
Cast in Argentium 960 premium quality, 100% recycled silver, these specially processed, tension settings measure 30mm x 12.6mm, or 1 3/16 x 1/2 inches, and hold 6 millimeter Swiss Blue Topaz.
PLEASE LOOK AT THE MEASUREMENTS CAREFULLY. SOME PHOTOS HAVE BEEN ENLARGED TO SHOW DETAIL, WHILE OTHERS HAVE BEEN MINIMIZED TO FIT THE FRAME. ACTUAL SIZE CANNOT BE DETERMINED FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHS.
Starting with a flat coil to clamp onto the stone, I added a twisting tendril ascending to the earlobe. The stones are suspended, beautifully framed between the ear and the jawline. I love this design, but it was harder to execute than I anticipated. To face the stones forward to flatter the face, the top of the earring, and the ear posts, angle in a different direction, making them, more challenging to make, hard to display, but very natural and lovely to wear.
BLUE TOPAZ: The beautiful blue of this stone is created by enhancing white topaz through the use of heat and irradiation. There are several shades of blue topaz , including Sky, Swiss and London. It is one of December’s birthstones along with Zircon and Tanzanite. Blue topaz rivals aquamarine in color and charm. Found in greater abundance, it offers superb clarity and luminous color at a fraction of the cost.
ARGENTIUM SILVER is a special alloy, verified as the most tarnish resistant made, but an occasional simple wipe with a soft cloth, and tucking the piece into the provided, protective pouch will further enhance its natural aversion to tarnish. Eco-friendly recycled silver.
